2021-22 UEFA Europa League matchday three recap

English Premier League clubs made hay in this week’s edition of the 2021-22 UEFA Europa League, with both clubs coming out on top. This and more in our recap.

Leicester City, West Ham prevail

Leicester City endured Spartak Moscow in a 4-3 goalfest.

Patson Daka was responsible for all of Leicester’s goals. All but one were scored on the second half.

At the other end, Aleksandr Sobolev had a brace, with goals at the 11th and 86th minutes. Jordan Larsson is the other scorer for Spartak.

Meanwhile, West Ham won big against Genk, 3-0.

Craig Dawson scored just before the break. Issa Diop and Jarrod Bowen added to the count 12 and 14 minutes have elapsed on the second half.

Real Betis, Leverkusen even steven after 90

Betis and Bayer Leverkusen played to a 1-1 draw.

Borja Iglesias scored from a penalty at the 75th minute. This was countered by Robert Andrich seven minutes later.

This is the first instance this season Real Betis dropped points in the group stage.
