Roberto Soldado and José Luis Morales were responsible for the Granotes’ two goals.
Meanwhile, Valencia lost to league leader Real Madrid, 1-4, to stumble down to tenth on the table.
Karim Benzema and Vini Jr teamed up to score two goals each for Los Blancos. Gonçalo Guedes provided the consolation goal for Valencia.
Finally, Pere Milla completed a brace in the first 14 minutes to propel Elche out of the relegation zone with a 2-1 victory over Espanyol.
