VFF filed a report to AFF regarding Wasapol Kaewpaluk’s act
Local press VnExpress revealed that the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has filed a complaint against Thailand national team assistant coach Wasapol Kaewpaluk for his “unsportsmanlike behavior”.
According to this site, Wasapol Kaewpaluk is likely to be reminded of his actions in the press conference room on My Dinh Stadium on January 13. The minutes of the VFF report and the video of the press conference have been sent to the AFF representative.
What happened to cause this incident?
The reason for the act was thought to have something relating to the fact that Thailand national team failed to show up at the Press Conference on time.
As a reason of that, Vietnam started the press while Thailand had to wait for almost 45 minutes, from here Wasapol behaved inappropriately to the local media in Hanoi and was said to continuously kick the door and yell.
What did Wasapol say?
However, the main man himself stated that the Vietnamese outlet’s claims are false.
The assistant coach shared that Thailand had to wait almost 45 minutes to begin their post-game press conference. Usually, the away side will proceed with the interview before the home team, but for some reason, Vietnam started first.
Wasapol added: “After waiting almost 45 minutes, one Vietnamese reporter decided to film me. When I saw him filming, I approached him and asked, ‘why are you filming?’ before he went and hid behind a wall. Once I walked closer to him, he left the room.“They (the VFF) can file a complaint, I didn’t say anything inappropriate.”
