PSG star Achraf Hakimi investigated for raping

PSG star Achraf Hakimi is being under investigated for allegedly rape, according to sources from CNN and GOAL.

Things came out as another shock to the football world, as the Morocco full-back is another name to the list of players being accused of raping.

Hakimi appeared at the FIFA The Best Ceremony few days ago, in which he was named in the FIFPRO Best XI of the year.

The incident was filed by Police against the former Dortmund and Real Madrid man on February 26, which was said to to have happened at his home in the Boulogne area of Paris on Saturday, February 25.

CNN stated that, French judicial authorities have opened an investigation for rape into Hakimi.

“The Nanterre prosecutor’s office does not wish to comment on this ongoing investigation, as the information already published jeopardizes the inquiries necessary for finding the truth,” the prosecutor’s office told CNN.

The Nanterre prosecutor’s office, just outside of Paris, is leading the investigation, the source added.

The 24-year-old has been among the rising stars of football world, and is considered one of the best defenders right now, who is playing along side Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar at French giant PSG.

A lawyer representing Hakimi denied rape allegations made against the player earlier this week.

Hakimi’s lawyer spoke up

Hakimi’s lawyer, Fanny Colin, told Le Parisien in a statement on Tuesday that the player did not do anything wrong, saying:

“The accusations are false. He is calm and is at the disposal of justice.”

Meanwhile, PSG have yet to comment on the matter, which emerged publicly hours before Hakimi was seen at the FIFA’s The Best award ceremony.
