The Naples side dominated the game, but failed to score until very late in the game. Rossoneri had their best chance to double the lead on aggregate when Mario Rui tripped Rafael Leao.

However, Olivier Giroud could not beat Alex Meret who parried to safety. The French striker did not give up as he redeemed with a goal to help Milan broke the deadlock two minutes before half-time.

Leao pulled a astonishing solo run before assisting Giroud with an easy tap-in.

Napoli were second-best throughout but were granted a lifeline in the 80th minute after handling a penalty for handball by Fikayo Tomori.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia took the kick but brilliant Mike Maignan saved his attempt by picking the right direction. Yet there was still time for more drama. Victor Osimhen headed past Maignan in stoppage time but it was too little, too late for the hosts.

Stefano Pioil’s side reache the last four of UCL for the first time since 2007.

Chelsea 0-2 Real Madrid (0-4 on agg)

Rodrygo leaves Blues reeling as the Brazilian scored twice in the second half to see off resilient London side and book their place in the semi-finals.

Terrific Thibaut Courtois also silences the boos in this return to the Stamford Bridge.

The former Chelsea number one keeper Courtois came up big in the first half, denying Marc Cucurella with a fine diving stop to maintain Madrid’s 2-0 aggregate lead from the first leg.

With a dynamic Reece James on the right flank, the host put constant pressure but Los Blancos solid stood.

In the second half, a textbook counter-attack was pulled off as Rodrygo started and ended it all.

Rodrygo started the move with a darting run down the right, before finishing it as Vinicius Junior laid the ball back into his path.

He then added a second 10 minutes from time, latching onto Federico Valverde’s pass and simply walking the ball in from three yards out, ended Frank Lampard’s side hope of a dramatic comeback.
