Man City 4-0 Real Madrid – Highlights
Bernardo Silva struck twice in the first half as Manchester City produced an absolute dominant game to dethrone 14th-time winners Real Madrid and reach the Champions League final.
While the likes of Karim Benzema or Vinicius Jr could create anything significant, Eder Militao scored a late own goal before Julian Alvarez sealed the historic victory 5-1 on aggregate only after minutes subbed in.
Istanbul will be awaiting for Inter Milan and The Citizens to lock horn in the most anticipated game of the season in June.
It was almost identical to the first leg in which Man City controlled the game, but the visitors had their rare chance with Toni Kroos’s rocket that hit the woodwork, but that was all from Los Blancos.
Silva turned home a powerful close-range shot past Thibaut Courtois in the 23th minute before the Portugal star finished his brace with a header to conclude an overwhelmed first half for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Erling Haaland also forced the no.1 goalkeeper from Real Madrid, but the former Chelsea star showed his class by blocking finish after finish from Haaland and co.
From his favorite position, Kyle Walker was completely comfortable dealing with Vini Jr who did not have a chance to finish during the first half.
Madrid showed some signs for a comeback when Ederson was tested early by David Alaba’s free-kick that slightly missed the post.
Haaland was so close to score in the second leg but Courtois once again pulled an incredible leg’s block from close range.
But Real were ended soon after, when De Bruyne swung in a free-kick that found by Akanju whose header was deflected past Courtois by Militao.
Substitute duo Phil Foden and Alvarez combined to put an end in stoppage time and book City a place in the final next month.
