Former Real Madrid star Marcelo was in tears after horribly breaking opponent’s leg during a Copa Libertadores match in Buenos Aires on Tuesday.

What happened – Marcelo broke his opponent’s leg
Look away if you are faint-hearted because the injury is horrible and nasty.
The incident occurred in the 56th minute of the match, which finished 1-1.
Marcelo was making a move as Argentinos Juniors defender Luciano Sanchez attempted a tackle. It appeared that the veteran Fluminense left-back stomped Sanchez but did not realize it was too strong that it broke the opponent’s leg.
Sanchez, 29, was in extreme agony, while Marcelo immediately burst into tears, having found out how critical the injury was.
The former Real Madrid player was sent off in tears as the Argentine screamed on the pitch, surrounded by concerned players on both teams.
Marcelo reacted after the nasty challenge
After the game, Marcelo posted on social media: “Today, I had to experience a very difficult moment on the pitch. I have inadvertently injured a colleague. I want to wish you the best possible recovery Luciano Sanchez. I send you all the strength in the world!”
The teams will play again next Tuesday at the Maracana Stadium for a place in the quarterfinals.
