Neymar to leave PSG, per reports

Neymar has three years left to run on his £25m-a-year contract at Ligue 1 giant PSG. The French side have been in the middle of turbulence after Lionel Messi left for MLS Inter Miami, while Kylian Mbappe will not extend his contract at Parc des Prince.

PSG smashed the world transfer record by signing him from Barcelona in 2017 for 222 million euros (£200m at the time), but the club failed to win the dream title of Champions League, having played in one final in the past five seasons.

The club did not comment on the matter when approached by Sky Sports News. Still, it is understood that the Brazil superstar, under contract until 2025, has yet to formally communicate his intention to leave to the club’s executives.

Neymar Senior denied the rumor

As per PL Brasil (via Sport), Neymar Senior could not be clearer on the matter.

“I cannot confirm a piece of news that did not happen. L’Equipe is being L’Efake.”

“It came from somewhere, let’s try to understand the intention,” he remarked.

Chance for Barca or Chelsea

Barcelona is rumored to be Neymar’s favorite destination. Still, the La Liga champions have been in a financial crisis since last season, which makes it impossible to sign such a player.

Football España reveals that Neymar met with Barcelona President Joan Laporta over the weekend. Regarding a potential return to the Blaugrana, the Brazilian and Laporta are thought to be keen on making it happen, but Manager Xavi Hernandez is currently preventing the move.

Chelsea, and Man United are among the Premier League elite sides to be mentioned in the Neymar saga.

RMC’s Fabrice Hawkins reported that Neymar’s entourage is in talks with the Blues, but even the wildest fans from the London-based side would not dream of signing the 2015 treble winner.
