For your information, Testosterone is a hormone that increases athletes’ endurance, and it is a substance that cannot be taken with a therapeutic exemption. If the French superstar could not prove the opposite, he may say goodbye to his football career.

Paul Pogba suspended – What happened

According to BBC, Italy’s national anti-doping tribunal (Nado) said Pogba returned a test with elevated testosterone levels after Juve’s 3-0 win at Udinese on August 20.

The post-match drug test can proceed with any player after the game and Pogba, an unused substitute selected randomly.

He could face a ban of two to four years if found guilty of doping.

Nado said Pogba had violated anti-doping rules when they found the prohibited substance “non-endogenous testosterone metabolites,” and the results were “consistent with the exogenous origin of the target compounds”.

Juventus released a statement on Pogba

Juventus said in a statement:

“Juventus Football Club announces that today, September 11, 2023, the footballer Paul Labile Pogba received a precautionary suspension order from the National Anti-Doping Tribunal following the results of tests carried out on August 20, 2023.

“The club reserves the right to consider the next procedural steps.”

Pogba has three days to produce a counter-analysis of the result to Nado.

The turbulence career since Pogba left Man United

Since he departed from Old Trafford, Pogba has been on a career roller-coaster.

Bianconeri re-signed Pogba on a four-year deal in July 2022 after the player ran down his contract at Manchester United and left as a free agent.

Among the Ballon d’Or nominees in 2015, the player faced severe problems with injuries that cost him the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

From being one of the best players on the field, Pogba became familiar with the bench. He has played 51 minutes as a substitute in games with Bologna and Empoli this season.

Last season, he managed 108 minutes over six Serie A games, three brief appearances and one assist in the Europa League, and 11 minutes in the Coppa Italia – a total of 162 minutes and no goals.
