An incredible night at St. James’ Park

Eddie Howe’s side top the’ group of death’- Group F- after two games as the English Premier League side crushed PSG on a notorious night at a rumbustious St. James’ Park.

Miguel Almiron gave Eddie Howe’s side the dream start in the 17th minute when he pounced a shoot after Gianluigi Donnarumma saved Alexander Isak’s shot following a misplaced pass by Marquinhos.

Manchester City left it late to overcome RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena as Pep Guardiola’s side made it two triumphs from two in Group G.

It took City 25 minutes to take the lead when Phil Foden’s shot into the ground beat Janis Blaswich. But just three minutes after the break, Leipzig restored equality with a thing on the break, Yussuf Poulsen releasing Lois Openda, who finished calmly.

With six minutes remaining, the in-form Julian Alvarez coiled in a beautiful shot into the top corner from 18 yards before Jeremy Doku wrapped up the scoring in injury time.

DORTMUND AND MILAN PLAY OUT GOALLESS DRAW

The only goalless draw of the night passed at Signal Iduna Park, where Dortmund and AC Milan played out a stalemate.

Both clubs are still searching for three points in Group F, but it seemed like none could go home happy after a goalless draw.

SUPER-SUB TORRES INSPIRES BARCELONA TO VICTORY

Ferran Torres came off the bench to score as Barcelona surfaced victorious on a 1- 0 scoreline in Porto in Group H.

The Catalans lost Robert Lewandowski to injury with 10 minutes remaining in the first half, but on the stroke of half-time, his replacement, Torres gave Barcelona a lead, slightly against the run of play.

Porto allowed they had a penalty when Joao Cancelo was arbitrated to have handled inside the box, but VAR capsized the adjudicator’s decision.

Atletico Madrid scraped once Feyenoord in a five-goal show to grab their first win of the season.

Crvena Zvezda netted late to secure a 2- 2 draw with Young Boys in GroupC.

Royal Antwerp were 19 minutes down from securing their first-ever Champions League victory in Group H, but a quick-fire Shakhtar double shattered it all. At the same time, Toby Alderweireld missed the chance to catch a point.
