Highlights

Group A – Copenhagen reached the last 16 for the first time in more than 10 years, Red Devils are out

Man United’s dream ended when Kingsley Coman scored a goal in the 70th minute. Copenhagen snatched second place with a 1-0 victory in a crunch match with Galatasaray.

The Bavarian side looked to score in the first half through Harry Kane, Leroy Sane, and Jamal Musiala.

Sofyan Amrabat and Diogo Dalot combined to prevent the former Man City Sane from opening the scoring.

Erik ten Hag was forced to call on 35-year-old Jonny Evans when Harry Maguire limped off just before half-time and then had to replace Luke Shaw at half-time.

As the game entered its final stages and United was still chasing a much-needed goal, Bayern broke forward and dealt United a decisive blow.

Those following the Copenhagen match from Old Trafford would have been satisfied with the score from Parken at half-time with the game goalless.

However, the hosts quickly rectified that in the second half as Lukas Lerager tapped Copenhagen ahead from close range.

Copenhagen reached the last 16 of the competition for only the second time in their history.

Group B- Sevilla crashed out

RC Lens beat holders Sevilla to sustain European football with a late 2-1 triumph.

A Sergio Ramos-inspired Sevilla – who needed the win to progress to the UEFA Europa League play-offs – piled the pressure on Lens late on with the scores level.

But after a tense final period, Lens snatched the win when Angelo Fulgini scored late to ensure their progression to the Europa League.

There was an unusual incident early in the first half when Sevilla was awarded an in-direct free-kick on the edge of Lens’s six-yard box.

With the Ligue 1 side’s goalline heavily marshaled, Ivan Rakitic teed the ball up for Nemanja Gudelj, whose drilled effort was blocked.

In a relatively quiet first half, which the Spaniards dominated, Rakitic’s fierce effort on the half-hour mark – tipped over the bar by Brice Samba – was the only real talking point.

Having already qualified for the round of 16 as Group B winners, it was a night of firsts for Arsenal as they drew 1-1 with PSV in Eindhoven.

Group C – Real Madrid are unstoppable.

Los Blancos are 14-time winners for a reason, and they prove that they are serious contenders (have they never been one?) this season with a perfect record in Group Stage.

The 14-time winners had the chance to take the lead on the stroke of half-time when Diogo Leite handled the ball in the box, but Luka Modric missed from the spot.
