Palmer inks extension deal with Chelsea

The 22-year-old joined Chelsea from Manchester City on September 1 last year for an initial fee of £40m, with an additional £2.5m in potential add-ons.

Palmer scored 25 goals and provided 15 assists in 45 appearances, second only to his former City teammate, Erling Haaland.

He also scored for England as a substitute in a 2-1 loss to Spain in the EURO 2024 final.

Additionally, Palmer is one of six players shortlisted for the Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Year.

The winner will be announced on August 20.

Nonetheless, Chelsea decided to add another two years to Palmer’s existing deal after a stellar first season at Stamford Bridge.

Palmer hopes to achieve more

Palmer was thrilled to sign the new deal with Chelsea, saying that he hopes to bring more success to Chelsea.

“I’m delighted to sign this new deal,” he said.

“I achieved a lot in my first season here.”

“And hopefully I can continue to experience great things at this club, both on a personal level and in terms of bringing success and trophies to Chelsea.”
