Top 10 new players in Premier League

The new Premier League is already upon us, and these 10 new players will make a name for themselves in the competition.

Most clubs had a busy summer signing new faces that will boost their campaign this term.

With that, Sportsmania has selected 10 players who will be hoping to turn heads in England’s top flight.

Top 10 Premier League players

Joshua Zirkzee (Manchester United)

With Manchester United looking to solve their forward dilemma, the club has completed a £36.54m move for Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.

The 23-year-old scored 12 goals in 37 appearances for the Serie A club last season.

Manchester United sporting director Dan Ashworth said: “Securing a forward to enhance our already strong group of attacking players was a key aim for this summer. We are delighted that we’ve managed to sign a player of Joshua’s calibre this early in the transfer window.”

Riccardo Calafiori (Arsenal)

Another talent from Serie A side Bologna, Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori, has signed a £42m deal with Arsenal.

Calafiori, 22, emerged as one of Italy’s standout players in EURO 2024.

With Calafiori’s addition to their defense, Arsenal hopes to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title.

Leny Yoro (Manchester United)

Manchester United had a busy summer with signing new players, even adding France young defender Leny Yoro from Ligue 1 side Lille.

The 18-year-old agreed to a €62 million deal to join Old Trafford.

Yoro emerged as one of the brightest young talents in Europe after becoming a first-team regular at Lille.

Niclas Fullkrug (West Ham)

West Ham is keen on revamping their roster this season, adding Niclas Fullkrug to the mix.

The 31-year-old Germany striker signed with Hammers from Borussia Dortmund for £27m.

Fullkrug scored 15 goals in 46 games last season, and finished as a Champions League runner-up with Dortmund.

Daichi Kamada (Crystal Palace)

Looking to replace Michael Olise, Crystal Palace acquired Japanese midfielder Daichi Kamada from Italian club Lazio on a free transfer.

Kamada, 27, reunites with his former Eintracht Frankfurt boss, Oliver Glasner, with whom he won the Europa League in 2022

He also has been capped 33 times by Japan.

Ben Brereton Diaz (Southampton)

Ben Brereton Diaz will enjoy a full season in the Premier League after joining recently-relegated Sheffield United on loan from La Liga side Villarreal in January.

The 25-year-old Chilean forward signed a £7m contract with Southampton, who were promoted back to the top flight last season after winning the Championship play-offs.

Nonetheless, Diaz . He scored six goals in 14 games for the Blades after struggling in Villareal.

Lucas Bergvall (Tottenham)

Tottenham have been active in the transfer market this summer, and the Spurs struck gold with Lucas Bergvall.

The 18-year-old midfielder joined from Swedish side Djurgården for a fee approaching £8.5m.

The Swede made 37 appearances for Djurgården, tallying five goals and two assists as a starter.

Julian Araujo (Bournemouth)

Bournemouth signed Mexico international Julian Araujo after a lacklustre season with Barcelona.

Araujo, 23, signed a five-year deal with Cherries worth €10 million.

The defender began his career in MLS with LA Galaxy, and also has 13 caps for Mexico.

Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui (Manchester United)

Continuing their busy summer, Manchester United completed a double transfer deal for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.

Both de Ligt and Mazraoui are reuniting with Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag, under whom they played at Ajax.

De Ligt, 25, is expected to strengthen United’s central defense following the departure of Raphael Varane.

Meanwhile, Mazraoui, 26, has made 28 appearances for Morocco and played in their semi-final defeat to France at the 2022 World Cup.

Savinho (Manchester City)

Brazil winger Savinho agreed to sign with Manchester City on a five-year deal.

The 20-year joins City from French side Troyes after a stellar campaign on loan at LaLiga’s Girona.

Both Troyes and Girona are part of the City Football Group (CFG), administered by Manchester City.

Savinho, also called Savio, scored 11 goals and 10 assists in 41 games for Girona, who finished third behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.
