SHARMA WINS AS CEAT MEN’S CRICKETER OF THE YEAR
Furthermore, Sharma wins as the CEAT Men’s Cricketer of the Year over Kohli.
The CEAT Cricket Rating Awards ceremony honored Sharma after he led India to the T20 World Cup 2024 title in July.
Moreover, Sharma tallied 14,846 runs, three double hundreds, 33 hundreds, and 87 fifties in ODIs (One-Day Internationals) and T20Is (Twenty20 Internationals) combined.
The 37-year-old opening batter has also surpassed Dhoni as the most successful India T20I captain.
Sharma tallied 49 victories in 62 matches.
On the other hand, Dhoni’s record shows 41 wins from 72 matches.
VIRAT KOHLI NAMED ODI BATTER OF THE YEAR
Moreover, Kohli was named as ODI batter of the year to share the spotlight with Sharma.
Furthermore, the 35-year-old top-order batter collected 13,906 runs after playing 295 matches and 283 innings at a strike rate of 93.54.
On the other hand, Kohli scored 765 runs from 11 matches at a strike rate of 90.31 in the ODI World Cup 2023.
Meanwhile, the CEAT named former India head coach Rahul Dravid as the recipient of its Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dravid steered India to the T20 World Cup 2024 title in July.
It served as his last title with India before he stepped down.
Ravichandran Ashwin took the CEAT’s Men’s Test Bowler of the Year for his impressive run for India in the recent tour of England.
JAISWAL, SHAMI ALSO CLAIM TROPHIES IN CEAT CEREMONY
Furthermore, Yashavi Jaiswal and Mohammad Shami also picked up their respective trophies in the CEAT ceremony.
Moreover, Jaiswal was named by CEAT as Test batter of the year.
He had 712 runs from five matches and nine innings at a strike rate of 79.91.
Jaiswal made the feat on England’s recent tour of India.
On the other hand, India’s top pacer Shami clinched the CEAT best ODI bowler of the year award.
Shami picked up 24 wickets in just seven matches at an economy rate of 5.26.
This enabled him to emerge as the highest wicket-taker in the 2023 ODI World Cup.
The 33-year-old picked up 195 wickets from 101 matches when he made his ODI debut against Pakistan in 2013.
