HUERTA SHARES MISSED LIVERPOOL TRANSFER AS SUMMER WINDOW ENDS

Furthermore, Huerta shares a missed Liverpool transfer as the summer window ended on its final day on August 30.

Moreover, the 23-year-old Mexican winger rued the failed opportunity to play in the Premier League.

Huerta admitted an “issue” was the reason why a prospective transfer from Pumas to Liverpool fell through on the final day of the summer transfer window.

“There was an issue. I had my suitcase ready,” Huerta said as reported by ESPN.

“But it (transfer to Liverpool) fell through because of an issue. I know it’s a train that only comes once,” he added.

The player, who is also known as “Chino,” was supposed to join Liverpool on a permanent transfer from Pumas.

He would later be sent on loan to another European club for the 2024-25 season had the move collapsed.

Moreover, a Pumas official admitted that “internal issues of the respective clubs” prevented Chino’s transfer to Liverpool.

Furthermore, Pumas president Luis Gonzalez cited “circumstances relating to internal issues of the respective clubs that monitored” Huerta that led to the deal’s downfall.

“It had nothing to do with the club or with the player’s intention, on the contrary,” Gonzalez said.

“They (Liverpool) recognized Huerta’s qualities, but for circumstances relating to internal issues of the respective clubs that monitored him, it could not be finalized,” he added.

Meanwhile, Huerta played for Mexico in its goalless draw against Canada in a friendly on Tuesday.

PREMIER LEAGUE STINT STILL A DREAM THE MEXICAN WINGER SHOULD PURSUE

Furthermore, the Mexican winger still dreams of a stint in the Premier League despite the missed opportunity with Liverpool.

Moreover, Huerta is not giving up the chance to move his game from Latin America to Europe.

“I am 100% with Pumas. (But) I know sooner or later, the opportunity will come,” the footballer said.

“I’m focused on Pumas and trying to do the best for the team. I know that soon, I will get my chance,” he added.

Incidentally, Huerta still has a contract with Pumas until June 2025.
