France midfielder Adrien Rabiot has agreed a deal in principle to sign with Ligue 1 side Marseille on Sunday.

Rabiot agrees “in principle” to join Marseille

Rabiot, 29, became a free agent in July after spending five seasons with Serie A side Juventus

He will return to France to pass his medical exams.

“Olympique de Marseille announces that it has reached an agreement in principle with Adrien Rabiot for the arrival of the French international midfielder at the club,” the club said in a statement.

“The player will sign with OM subject to the results of the medical examination.”

France media outler l’Equipe newspaper said Rabiot is expected to sign a two-year deal with the club.

Rabiot, born in the Val-de-Marne region near Paris, joined Paris Saint-Germain’s academy at the age of 15.

He left PSG to join Juventus in 2019, where he won a Serie A title, two Italian Cups, and an Italian Super Cup.

In his international career, Rabiot has made 48 appearances for France and featured in Euro 2024, where France lost to Spain in the semifinals.

This summer, Marseille also signed Mason Greenwood, Neal Maupay, and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.

They currently sit second in Ligue 1 under new manager Roberto De Zerbi.
