Roma fired De Rossi on Wednesday and hired former Torino manager Ivan Juric.

“AS Roma announces that CEO Lina Souloukou has resigned,” it said in a statement.

We thank Lina for her dedication at a particularly critical time for the Club and wish her all the best in her future professional endeavors.

“The ownership remains fully focused on the growth and success of Roma, with constant attention to the values that make our team so special.”

The fan outrage

Despite being winless in their first four matches in Serie A, many fans were outraged over De Rossi’s firing.

De Rossi spent nearly two decades at Roma as a player, establishing himself as a club hero.

He took over as head coach in January after Jose Mourinho was dismissed.

Police are evaluating security for Souloukou following a threatening banner at the club’s training ground, according to Italian media.

Meanwhile, fans held a protest at home against Udinese on Sunday.
