Pro-Madrid newspaper Marca announced the list of six greatest footballers in the sport’s history, with Lionel Messi voted GOAT and ranked above Cristiano Ronaldo.

Popular Spanish publication MARCA has ranked the six greatest footballers in the sport’s history. In return, Inter Miami star Lionel Messi has been presented with the inaugural MARCA America award as a show of appreciation for his never-ending career.

The old age debate between two of modern sport’s greatest, Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, will forever live in conversations across the globe, but MARCA’s latest trophy-giving exercise perhaps closes a chapter in the debate, once and for all.
