SIXERS FINED USD100,000 FOR MISLEADING STATEMENTS ON EMBIID INJURY UPDATE

The Sixers were fined by the NB for misleading public statements on Embiid’s injury update on Tuesday.

Furthermore, the league made the decision after it conducted a probe on the Sixers regarding Embiid’s status.

Moreover, the Cameroonian-American center missed the pre-season and the Sixers’ season-opener this month.

The league cited comments from Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey and coach Nick Nurse that were “inconsistent with Joel Embiid’s health status and in violation of NBA rules.”

Embiid, as it turns out, cannot play so far this season due to a “left knee condition,” the NBA confirmed.

EMBIID STILL OUT VS PISTONS, MISSES FOURTH STRAIGHT GAME

Moreover, Embiid’s still out for Wednesday’s Sixers matchup against the Detroit Pistons.

Furthermore, it was the fourth-straight game the All-Str center has missed in this new season.

Nurse ruled him and Paul George out for Wednesday’s game at the Wells Fargo Center.

It didn’t help that Nurse shut down questions regarding his two stars’ health on Tuesday.

“I’m not going to answer,” the Sixers’ coach said.

NURSE FOCUSED ON SIXERS TO ‘PLAY AS GOOD AS IT CAN’

Furthermore, Nurse focused on the Sixers needing to “play as good as it can” starting against the Pistons.

“Then, my main focus is, I’ve got to do the job that I’ve got to do,” the Sixers coach said.

“I’ve to to try to get this team to play as good as it can tomorrow night (against Detroit). That takes a big chunk of my focus,” he added.

Moreover, Nurse assured that he wants both Embiid and George to play and “be healthy, and we want them to play great all season.”

The NBA investigated why Embiid skipped the Sixers’ nationally televised game against the Milwaukee Bucks as part of its player participation policy.
