CELTICS HAND CAVS FIRST LOSS BEHIND TATUM’S 33 POINTS

The Celtics hand the Cavs their first loss behind Jayson Tatum’s 33 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists.

Furthermore, Boston protected homecourt with hot shooting, going 22-for-41 from deep to take a 21-point lead.

Moreover, the Celtics’ big lead proved to be enough cushion to hold a third quarter comeback by the Cavaliers.

Boston shot 51.2% from the field and 53.7% on three-pointers to humble Cleveland’s defense.

All five Celtics starters scored in double figures, with Al Horford (20 points), Derrick White (19), Jaylen Brown (17), and Jrue Holiday (11) spreading the effort.

GARLAND OFF NIGHT SPELLS CLEVELAND’S DOOM

Moreover, an off-night by Darius Garland spelled Cleveland’s doom, as the Cavs couldn’t keep up with the Celtics’ hot offense.

Furthermore, Garland struggled to just eight points and seven assists while shooting 3-for-21 from the field.

Donovan Mitchell led Cleveland’s 30-11 run in the third quarter and made the game close in the end.

The All-Star guard finished with 35 points with eight rebounds and three assists.

Big man Evan Mobley had 22 points, 11 boards, six assists, one block, and one steal in a losing cause.

WARRIORS’ 24-0 START SAFE AS CAVS DENIED FROM SOLO SECOND-BEST START

Furthermore, the Golden State Warriors’ 24-0 start in the 2015-16 season remains safe from the NBA record books.

Moreover, the Cavs were denied from getting solo second place among the best starts in league history.

At 15-0, Cleveland is tied with the 1993-94 Houston Rockets and the 1948-49 Washington Capitols for second-best behind the Dubs.

The win revived Boston’s chances in the in-season NBA Cup after the defending champions lost their opener to the Atlanta Hawks last week.

For the Cacvs, they will get another shot at the Celtics when they host the champs in Boston on December 1.
