SCHRODER TO WEAR NO.71 JERSEY FOR WARRIORS FOR HIS FATHER

Expect Schroder to wear No.71 jersey for the Warriors for his father, who inspired him to play in the NBA.

Moreover, the German pointguard actually wanted to wear No.17, his father’s actual favorite number.

However, the Warriors already retired Chris Mullin’s No.17 jersey, forcing him to reverse numbers for his new jersey.

“The goal was to play in the NBA, and I’m still doing it. My 12th season now, and (I’m) more than grateful to be here and don’t take it for granted every single day,” Schroder said.

“I’m going to go out and treat it like it’s my last. So it’s great to do that for him (his father),” he added.

GERMAN GUARD ‘EXCITED’ TO PLAY WITH CURRY, GREEN

Furthermore, Germany’s star pointguard is “excited” to play with All-Star teammates Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

Moreover, Schroder said finally playing on the same side with future Hall of Famers in Curry and Green is something he looks forward to.

“I’ve played with a lot of future Hall of Famers the last couple of years,” said Schroder, who was the No.17 pick with the Atlanta Hawks in 2013.

“Him (Curry) and Draymond (Green) will make it kind of complete now,” he added.

Schroder will carry his averages of 18.4 points, 6.6 assists and 38.7% shooting from deep from the Brooklyn Nets to the Warriors.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr earlier said Schroder will likely be a starter alongside Curry but will also guide the second unit in most stretches of the match.
