EDWARDS TAPPED TO LEAD 12-MAN SQUAD IN FOUR-GAME SERIES IN SYDNEY

Edwards was tapped to lead its 12-man squad in Australia A’s four-game series against the Lions in Sydney.

Furthermore, the 24-year-old all-rounder hopes to guide a youthful Australia A team whose lineup is composed of new faces.

Moreover, selectors only retained five faces from the squad that battled India A in two four-day games in October and November.

Edwards is expected to lend his experience playing for Australia in the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in December 2017.

He made his first-class debut for New South Wales in the 2018-19 Sheffield Shield season on October 16, 2018.

AUSTRALIA A ALSO NAMES SUTHERLAND, HARDIE TO YOUTHFUL SQUAD

Moreover, Australia A also named Will Sutherland and Aaron Hardie to join Edwards in its youthful squad.

Furthermore, the two fast-bowling allrounders are also being counted upon to share their experience to boost Australia A’s chances.

Sutherland is the only full-time Shield captain who was included in the squad.

Hardie will be the only Australia A member who was part of the country’s Champions Trophy squad.

He is currently recovering from a quad issue, as he only played one first-class match this summer.

SELECTORS GIVE BUCKINGHAM, O’NEILL, PHILIPPE ANOTHER SHOT

Furthermore, selectors gave Jordan Buckingham, Fergus O’Neill, and Joseph Philippe another shot.

Moreover, they join two others as the remnants from the India A series last year.

Corey Rocchiccioli and Brendan Doggett complete the five holdovers retained by the selectors.

However, Doggett was only added to the team as a late injury replacement.

Meanwhile, selectors found no room for Marcus Harris, Jimmy Peirson, or Nathan McAndrew, who played well in Australia A’s second game in Melbourne.
