AXELSEN BACK ON TOP, BEATS LEE IN MEN’S SINGLES FINAL TO RULE AGAIN
Axelsen is back on top after he beat Lee Cheuk Yiu, 21-16, 21-8, on Sunday in the men’s singles final.
Furthermore, the Danish former world No.1 got back at a past tormentor in Lee, whom he lost at the Malaysia Open.

He had copped his third title in six finals over the past 10 years.
The Dane extended his lead to 7-2 in head-to-head matchups over the world No.20.
He has also tied retired Malaysian legend Lee Chong Wei for the most titles in India.
He reached the final after pulling off a 17-21, 21-14, 21-15 triumph over Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie in the semifinals on Saturday.
“After this week, I feel my motivation is coming back. Since the Olympics, I had been struggling with injuries,” Axelsen said.
AN REIGNS AGAIN, RIPS PORNPAWEE TO RULE WOMEN’S SINGLES FINAL

Malaysian, Japanese, and Chinese pairs turned back their foes to win their respective doubles titles over the weekend.
Furthermore, Goh Sze Fei and Nu Izzuddin beat South Korea’s Kim Won-ho and Seo Seung-jae, 21-15, 13-21, 21-16, to win the men’s doubles final.
Moreover, Arisa Igarashi and Ayako Sakuramoto of Japan defeated Koreans Kim Hye-jeong and Kong Hee-yong, 21-15, 21-13, for the women’s doubles title.
In the mixed doubles final, Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin humbled Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue of France, 21-18, 21-17.
Meanwhile, Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi praised Goh and Izzuddin for bringing the title to their homeland.
“Maintain this momentum to achieve more success on the international stage this year. Well done, boys. Keep it up,” the deputy minister wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
