GAUFF FALLS TO BADOSA, MISSES LAST EIGHT TICKET
Gauff falls to Badosa, 5-7, 4-6, as she missed the last eight ticket despite having a promising 2025 start so far.
Furthermore, the American No.3 seed was 9-0 to start the new year and was on a 13-match winning streak coming into the match.
Moreover, Badosa stopped Gauff despite the latter dropping only set through four matches at Melbourne Park.
“She (Gauff) is full of confidence. But I’m playing well, to. I would never think that, a year after, I would be here,” the Spaniard said.
“I’ve been through a lot. In the past, I was one of the best players in the world,” she added.
Badosa was referring to 2022, when she was No.2 in the world until a back injury sidelined her career.

Furthermore, Sinner continued his winning run to 18 consecutive matches, dating to late last year.
“I knew in my mind, I would struggle today,” the Italian said.
“Me and the doctor, we talked a little bit. It helped me,” he added.

The 22-year-old American led, 7-6(3), 6-7(3), 7-6(2), 1-0, when Monfils called it quits after nearly three hours of playing.
