THAILAND MASTERS 2025 OPENING DAY SAW SRIKANTH BEAT ISRAEL’S DUBOVENKO

The Thailand Massters 2025 opening day saw Srikanth beat Israel’s Daniil Dubovenko, 21-13, 21-18.

Furthermore, India’s world No.47 shuttler surged to a 6-0 start to comfortably take the opening set.

Moreover, Srikanth saw Dubovenko fight back and force a 15-all standoff in the second set.

However, the Indian shuttler managed to hold off his Israeli world No.74 in the next few matches to advance to the round-of-16.

Srikanth will next play Hong Kong’s world No.41 Jason Gunawan for a place in the quarterfinals.

NGUYEN TOPS DANE JOHANNESEN, TO FACE CARRAGGI NEXT

Nguyen topped Dane Magnus Johannesen, 21-19, 21-10, in their roud-of-32 matchup.

Moreover, the Vietnamese-Irish shuttler was tested early in the opening set, as he barely won it after an intense exchange.

Furthermore, Nguyen got going in the second set to fend off any comebacks put up by his Danish opponent.

The Vietnamese-born shuttler will next take on Belgium’s Julien Carraggi, a 19-21, 21-14, 24-22 winner over Viren Nettasinghe of Sri Lanka.

Caraggi overcame an opening-set loss with precision shotmaking to force a decider before holding off Viren in the end to advance.

WU OUTPLAYS RAMRAJ AS INDIAN WOMEN’S SHUTTLERS FALL

Wu Luo Yu outplays Rakshitha Ramraj, as Indian women’s shuttlers fell on their opening day matches.

Furthermore, Wu pulled off a 21-19, 21-16 decision over Ramraj to start off an unfortunate start for India’s women’s shuttlers.

Moreover, Tanya Hemanth also fell short, 21-15, 11-21, 13-21, to Malaysia’s Kisona Selvaduray.

Hone favorite Pitchamon Opatniputh also added to India’s woes, as she defeated Shriyanshi Valishetty, 21-17, 21-13.

Another Thai women’s shuttler, Thamonwan Nithittikrai, ousted Tara Shah, 21-15, 21-16.
