He turns 40 in a few days (February 5), but age is just a number for CR7. This match marked the eighth time he’s found the net in his last nine games for Al Nassr—proof that he’s still one of the deadliest finishers in the game.
Classic Ronaldo: Goal and Assist in Style
Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 35th minute with a clever touch inside the box from a well-placed free kick. Marcelo Brozovic sent in a curling ball from the left, and Ronaldo was perfectly positioned to tap it home. No VAR needed—he immediately raised his hand to claim the goal before unleashing his iconic “Siuuu” celebration.
But he wasn’t done. Just after halftime (47’), he turned provider, delivering a pinpoint assist to left-back Nawaf Noushal for what turned out to be the game-winning goal. This was the first time since October 5, 2024, that Ronaldo has scored and assisted in the same match for Al Nassr.
Leading the Golden Boot Race
That goal brings Ronaldo’s career tally to an incredible 921 and strengthens his lead in the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot race. With 15 goals in 18 matches, he sits ahead of Karim Benzema (13) and Aleksandar Mitrovic (12).
Al Nassr is now third in the league, five points behind leaders Al Hilal and second-place Al Ittihad, though they’ve played one game more. Next, they face UAE club Al Wasl at home in a crucial AFC Champions League group stage match on February 3.
