DONCIC THANKS DALLAS FANS ON SOCIAL MEDIA AFTER SEVEN-YEAR RUN
Doncic thanks Dallas fans on social media after his seven-year run with the Mavericks ended on Saturday.
Furthermore, the Slovenian All-Star guard lauded the “love and support” he received.
The guard was acquired by Dallas in 2018 after Atlanta made him the No.3 overall pick in the Draft.
Moreover, Doncic “wanted to badly to bring you (Dallas) a championship” that fell short after he led the Mavs to the NBA finals last year.
“Seven years go, I came here as a teenager to pursue my dream of playing basketball at the highest level,” Doncic said on X (formerly Twitter).
“I thought I’d spend my career here and I wanted so badly to bring you a championship,” he added.

Mavs general manager Nico Harrison said the trade will “make us better.”
Dallas acquired All-Star big man Anthony Davis in exchange of the three-team trade that also included the Utah Jazz.
Moreover, the Dallas executive admitted the Slovenian guard’s contract situation, where he was eligible for a five-yer, USD345 million supermax deal this summer, was also considered.
Furthermore, Harrison made the call for the trade with the support of Mavs coach Jason Kidd.
“Well, let’s be clear: I’m the one making the decision and (Kidd)’s supportive of it, so it’s me,” the Dallas executive said.
“We think defense wins championships, and we’re bringing in one of the best two-way players in the league,” he added.

Furthermore, some angry Dallas fans protested outside the American Airlines Center, the Mavs’ home court, to slam the trade.
Moreover, one fans paid a coffin for USD3,000 to be delivered t the area for a mock funeral for the franchise after the shocking deal.
Furthermore, fans slammed Harrison by making spray-painted messages on the pavement near Dallas legend Dirk Nowitzki’s statue outside the arena.
However, the Dallas executive asked for understanding, as he didn’t back down on his decision in pulling the trigger.
“I’m sorry they’re frustrated, but it’s something that we believe in as an organization,” Harrison said.
” We believe that it sets us up to win, not only now, but also in the future. And when we win, I believe the frustration will go away,” he added.
