Morata signs with Galatasaray on loan

The Turkish club will have the option to make the deal permanent, according to a statement from Milan.

“The Club would like to thank Alvaro for the total dedication and professionalism he has shown and wishes him all the best in his professional and personal life going forward.”

Galatasaray stated that Morata will receive a total of €6 million, including a guaranteed €3 million for the second half of the 2024-25 season.

The Turkish Super Lig club has an option to sign the 32-year-old permanently for €8 million if they notify the Serie A club in writing by January 15, 2026.

If Galatasaray chooses not to activate the buy option by that date, they will have the right to extend the loan period until June 30, 2026.

If the loan is extended, Morata will receive another €3m for the second half of the 2025-26 season.

“I wish him the best…”

Morata, the captain of Spain national team, joined Milan from LaLiga side Atletico Madrid last summer for €13m on a four-year contract.

AC Milan advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic explained Morata’s departure after just six months with the Rossoneri club,

“Alvaro is a great person and a great player,” Ibrahimovic said.
