Saudi Pro League – The most potential trophies Ronaldo could win
Since moving to Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has been unstoppable in front of goal, netting 55 goals in 56 league games for Al Nassr. But when it comes to the league title? No luck so far.
His debut season ended with Al-Ittihad winning the league, and last year, Al-Hilal dominated with 96 points. This season, Al Nassr trails Al-Hilal by six points after 10 matches. Can he finally get his hands on the Saudi Pro League trophy?
King’s Cup
The closest Ronaldo came to winning this cup was in 2023 when Al Nassr reached the final against Al-Hilal. The match ended 1-1, and though Ronaldo scored his penalty in the shootout, Al Nassr lost 5-4.
Saudi Super Cup
Even a Ronaldo goal in the final wasn’t enough to stop Al Nassr from losing 4-1 to Al-Hilal this season. Jorge Jesus’ men turned the game around quickly and ran away with the trophy.
AFC Champions League Elite
Ronaldo is the king of the UEFA Champions League, but he’s still chasing his first title in Asia’s top competition.
Al Nassr made it to the quarter-finals last season but got knocked out by UAE’s Al Ain on penalties. Ronaldo scored his spot-kick, but three of his teammates missed.
Europa League
Ronaldo played in the Europa League just once, during the 2022-23 season with Manchester United. He contributed four goal involvements in six group-stage matches, but by the time the knockout rounds arrived, he had already moved to Al Nassr.
World Cup
The biggest trophy missing from Ronaldo’s collection.
He’s downplayed its importance, saying, “Portugal winning the Euros is like winning the World Cup. I already won two trophies with Portugal, so I’m not motivated by that.” Hmm, are you sure, Ronaldo?
Still, with Messi lifting the World Cup in 2022, you have to wonder if Ronaldo is eyeing one last shot at glory in 2026.
Confederations Cup
After winning the Euros, Portugal had a shot at this trophy in 2017 but lost to Chile in the semi-finals on penalties.
Primeira Liga
In his Sporting CP days, Ronaldo’s only entire season saw his team finish third in Portugal’s top league. He chipped in with seven-goal contributions but couldn’t stop Porto from taking the title.
Taca de Portugal
Another near miss from his Sporting days. 2002-03, Sporting fell to underdogs Associacao Naval in the quarter-finals. Ronaldo scored in earlier rounds but couldn’t impact that game.
One Last Chapter?
At 40, Ronaldo is still going strong, chasing records and trophies. Will he add any of these missing pieces to his collection before he calls it a day? Never count CR7 out.
