Doncic ‘excited’ for new Lakers journey after ‘shock’ trade

DONCIC ‘EXCITED’ FOR NEW LAKERS JOURNEY, DESCRIBES NEW TEAM AS ‘GREATEST CLUB IN THE WORLD’
Doncic is “excited for his new Lakers journey.
He described his new team as the “greatest club in the world.”
Furthermore, the 25-year-old Slovenian guard admitted it was “hard at first.”
This was the first 48 hours since the Dallas Mavericks dealt him in shock trade on Saturday.
Doncic was traded for Anthony Davis and some reserves and draft picks in a three-team deal with the Utah Jazz.
He would later thank Dallas fans through a heartfelt letter on social media on Monday.
Moreover, Doncic was all smiles when he was formally introduced as a Laker at the team’s facility on Tuesday.
“It was a big shock. (Dallas) was home, so it was really hard moments for me,” Doncic said.
“(But now) I get to play in the greatest club in the world, and I’m excited for this new journey,” he added.
‘DREAM COME TRUE’ FOR LUKA TO PLAY WITH LEBRON
The trade, Doncic said, was also a “dream come true” as he now gets to play with superstar LeBron James.
Moreover, the All-Star guard admitting he will “always look up to him,” referring to James, who called him hours after the trade.
Furthermore, Doncic is looking forward to come back from a calf strain injury.
“It’s just like a dream come true. I always looked up to him,” the Slovenian said.
“There’s so many things I can learn from him,” he added.
LAKERS GM BELIEVES LUKA-LOS ANGELES TEAMUP A ‘SEISMIC EVENT IN NBA HISTORY’
Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka described Doncic’s teamup with Los Angeles as a “seismic event in NBA history.”
Furthermore, Pelinka smiled after he saw Doncic at the Lakers’ training complex Tuesday.
Moreover, the Slovenian superstar’s arrival with the Lakers, the executive said, would bring “basketball joy to the world.”
“I think Luka Doncic joining forces with the Los Angeles Lakers is a seismic event in NBA history,” Pelinka said.
“And I think when those two powerful forces get together, it brings basketball joy to the world because that’s how Luka plays,” he added.
