JAVED GETS PAKISTAN LINEUP NOD IN ODI SERIES VS SOUTH AFRICA, NEW ZEALAND
Javed gets the nod in Pakistan’s lineup in its ODI (One-Day International) Test series against South Africa and New Zealand.
Furthermore, the 24-year-old left-arm pacer is coming into the tri-nation series with 30 first-class, 30 List-A, and 68 T20 appearances in his belt.
Moreover, he comes in after Rauf is sidelined with a muscular sprain in his lower chest.
Rauf sustained the injury in Pakistan’s match against New Zealand last Saturday.
Javed is expected to play in Pakistan’s Test against South Africa on Wednesday.
BPL EXPLOITS PAYS OFF FOR RANGPUR RIDERS’ STAR IN PAKISTAN CALL-UP
The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) exploits of Javed has paid off with his selection to Pakistan’s national side.
Moreover, he recorded an impressive bowling for the Rangpur Riders in the BPL.
Furthermore, Javed put up 20 wickets in 11 matches at an economy rate of just 6.89.
Additionally, Javed has taken 52 wickets in 23 matches in first-class cricket.
This compares to his 33 wickets in 30 matches in List A cricket.
Javed has also picked up 18 wickets in his three seasons with the Pakistan Super League.
PCB CONFIRMS JAVED ADDITION, RAUF INJURY
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed Javed’s addition and Rauf’s injury.
Furthermore, the board cited MRI and X-ray scans that determined Rauf’s condition.
Moreover, the 31-year-old right-arm bowler will be rested for the rest of Pakistan’s tri-nations series.
However, Rauf is expected to recover in time to play for host Pakistan in Champions Trophy 2025.
The tournament will be held in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi from February 19 to March 9.
