DURANT SLAMS SUNS AFTER WOLVES POSTS BIG ROAD WIN IN PHOENIX
Durant slams the Suns after the Wolves posted a 116-98 road win in Phoenix.
Furthermore, the All-Star forward felt “we embarrassed ourselves” before their home fans.
Moreover, Durant “wants us to be better,” meaning he hopes the Suns can bounce back in the race for a play-in spot in the Western Conference.
“We didn’t play up to our standards at all,” the man also known as “Durantula” said.
“We embarrassed the fans we embarrassed ourselves the way we played. I want us to be better,” he added.
SUNS COACH CITES NEED TO ‘GO ON A RUN’ TO REVIVE PLAYOFF HOPES
Suns coach Mike Budenholzer cited the need for his team to “go on a run” if they want to get a fair chance to reach the playoffs.
Furthermore, Phoenix (28-33) lost for the 11th time in 14 games.
They’re four games behind Dallas for the final spot in the West’s play-in.
Moreover, Durant and the Suns watch Anthony Edwards drop 44 points, while Donte Divincenzo scored 24 points off the bench to fuel the Wolves,.
“We’ve got to go on a run, but it’s got to start” Budenholzer said.
“There’s no doubt that the standings, the circumstances that we’re in, there’s an awareness and we’ve got to do something to change it,” he added.
Budenholzer is aware that Phoenix only has 21 games left in the regular season, and the need to win more games starts now.
This was not the vision the Phoenix coach foresee when he took over the club this season.
He hoped to steer Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal to a deep run.
