GAUFF BRACES FOR MIAMI OPEN AFTER SPENDING 21ST BIRTHDAY

Gauff braces for the Miami Open, which she considers her “home tournament” after spending her 21st birthday on March 13.

Furthermore, the Atlanta, Georgia, native acknowledged having a “rough patch” to start her 2025 season after losing in the quarterfinals at the Australian Open in January.

Moreover, Gauff is aching to bounce back from a fourth-round loss to Belinda Bencic at Indian Wells last week.

“Sometimes when I don’t do well, people think there’s something personally wrong with me,” Gauff said.

“”I’m obviously not happy with those past results, but it’s one of those things that, in the history of my career, I’ve had ups and downs,” he added.

‘CHANGES IN MY GAME’ SET FOR COCO

Gauff admitted to make “changes in my game,” which she hopes to showcase in Miami.

Moreover, the American world No.11 is getting an extra day off from the Tuesday start, as she got a first-round bye.

Furthermore, Gauff will be tested early, as she takes on either Petra Kvitova or Sofia Kenin in her second-round debut.

“I still feel like I have a couple more years … (to reach) that point where every week is a great week, I guess,” Gauff said.

“I’m also in the middle of changes in my game; it’s been difficult,” he added.

ANDREEVA SEEKS ‘SUNSHINE DOUBLE’ AFTER INDIAN WELLS TITLE

Mirra Andreeva seeks a “Sunshine Double” in Miami after she ruled Indian Wells over the weekend.

Furthermore, the Russian 17-year-old world No.6 should be considered one of Gauff’s main obstacles.

Moreover, Andreeva is bracked in the quarter of a draw with Americans Jesica Pegula, and Emma Navarro.

Only four women – Steffi Graf, Kim Clijsters, Victoria Azarenka, and Iga Swiatek – have won the “Sunshine Double” so far.

Meanwhile, Swiatek and Belarussian Aryna Sabalenka could cross paths only in the final in a battle of the top two women’s players.
