ROSE BOWL READY TO STAGE OLYMPIC EVENTS

The Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California, is set to stage major competitions for the Games.

Moreover, the stadium has been tapped to host at least four matches in men’s and women’s soccer semifinals and finals.

Furthermore, Rose Bowl Stadium chief executive officer Jens Weiden said their facility is capable of staging the “best events” due to its 88,000 capacity for spectators.

“We will be, along with the (Los Angeles) Coliseum, the only venue in the US to host the (Olympic) games three times,” Weiden told NBC Los Angeles.

“With the size of our building and the ability to welcome tens of thousands of folks here to enjoy, we’re ecstatic about hosting the finals and seminal finals,” he added.

LA28 TO BANK ON TICKET SALES, SPONSORSHIP, IOC CONTRIBUTIONS TO SUCCEED

LA28 will rely on ticket sales, corporate sponsorship, merchandise and contributions from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to succeed.

Furthermore, council president Marqueece Harris-Dawson noted LA28 can learn a thing or two from organizers of the 1984 LA Olympics.

Moreover, he cited the need to invest on assets and liabilities once the Games are over.

“We absolutely cannot afford that (extra expenses) under any circumstance,” Harris-Dawson said.

“So we have to make sure this is done and done right, and done in a way like 1984,” he added.
