Madrid Open matches were suspended late Monday due to power outage that hit Spain and Portugal.

Moreover, the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) reported that power went off at 12:34pm local time (1034 GT).

Furthermore, two singles matches and one doubles match were held when the power went out.

“The cut is preventing the use of electronic line calling systems and also left a spider cam dangling over the court inside Manolo Santana Stadium,” the ATP said.

Organizers “had no choice but to suspend/cancel all sporting activity.”

GAUFF, ANDREEVA ADVANCE BEFORE POWER OUTAGE

Coco Gauff and Mirra Andreeva were fortunate to finish their matches before matches were suspended.

Furthermore, Gauff pulled off a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Belinda Bencic but the sound was cut off during her post-match interview.
