Dembele suffers hamstring injury

Dembele’s early goal in the fourth-minute basically gave PSG the edge in the first leg.

However, the France international was replaced by Bradley Barcola in the 70th minute after he was seen clutching the back of his leg near the PSG bench.

The former Barcelona forward has played a crucial role in PSG’s run to the semifinals.

Coach Luis Enrique said his team is still capable of sealing the deal in the second leg, even if Dembele doesn’t recover in time.

“We’re going to try to get Dembele back on the pitch,” Enrique said.

“But we’re a real team. If Ousmane can play, that’s better. But if he doesn’t, we’ll still be a real team. We’ve been saying that since the start of the season.”

Enrique said Dembele’s injury is ‘nothing serious,’ but admitted his star player remains a doubt for the second leg

“I don’t know. He’ll undergo tests tomorrow. It’s not serious, it’s something very minor, but he’s probably a doubt for the second leg.”

Job’s not done

Nonetheless, PSG has a chance to seal the deal in the second leg at the Parc des Princes.

Enrique, who won the Champions League as Barcelona coach in 2015, is confident his side can overcome Arsenal over two legs to secure a place in the Champions League final.

PSG has already clinched the Ligue 1 title and booked a spot in the French Cup final.

“It’s a great result, but there’s one more game left,” he said.

“It was a very emotional match and it’s difficult to play with that feeling.”

“But it’s not over yet. We have to think about controlling the match. We have to play at home with the fans, we’ll be ready.”
