Kane wins first major triphy
Bayern’s title win was confirme when second-place Bayer Leverkusen fell to a 2-2 draw at Freiburg.
Leverkusen could no longer mathematically surpass Bayern’s 76-point total with two matches remaining.
The draw officially ends Kane’s run of playing 694 matches for club and country without a single trophy to his name.
Minutes after Bayern’s title win was confirmed, Kane shared a trophy emoji on a black background via his Instagram Stories.
He followed it up with a video of himself celebrating and singing Queen’s 1977 hit “We Are the Champions,” before being drenched in champagne.
The move was worth it
Kane, 31, joined Bayern Munich from his boyhood club Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.
The England captain is on course to become the first player to finish his first two Bundesliga seasons as the league’s top scorer.
Already England’s all-time leading goal scorer and second on the Premier League’s career scoring list, Kane had long collected individual accolades.
But his move to six-time European champions Bayern was about one thing: finally winning trophies.
Meanwhile, the Bavarians will receive the league trophy on Saturday during their final home game of the season against Borussia Monchengladbach.
“We can take a moment now to enjoy winning the Bundesliga,” said Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany.
“What an incredible feeling! I want to congratulate the players for their outstanding effort throughout the season. You’ve done this together. You’ve won it as a team.
“The season’s not over yet, and there’s still so much to look forward to. Let’s finish strong, together.”
