Asencio prosecuted over alleged sex scandal
Marca reports that a Gran Canaria court has formally prosecuted Asencio and his former Real Madrid academy teammates Andres Garcia, Ferran Ruiz, and Juan Rodriguez.
They are accused of non-consensually recording sexual images of two women, one of whom was a minor.
The incident allegedly occurred in June 2023 and involved the distribution of the footage.
According to the judge, there is sufficient evidence to support allegations of several crimes.
These include violation of privacy, distribution of videos to third parties without the victims’ knowledge or consent, solicitation of a minor for pornographic purposes, and possession of child pornography.
The four players were arrested in September 2023, and their mobile phones were seized by police.
Real Madrid confirmed that the individuals had provided evidence related to “the sharing of a private video via WhatsApp.”
What’s next for Asencio?
Meanwhile, Real Madrid have not commented on the incident with regard to any of their players at the time, nor Asencio since.
Asencio, 22 previously addressed the matter in March, noting that he was conscious of his actions during the incident.
Los Blancos plan to hand Asencio a new five-year deal running until 2030, which the player has agreed to sign.
He started in Carlo Ancelotti’s side against Mallorca on Wednesday.
