KUNLAVUT WINS MEN’S SINGLES TITLE AFTER BEATING ANTONSEN IN FINAL
Kunlavut wins the men’s singles title after he beat Denmark’s Anders Antonsen, 21-16, 17-21, 21-9, in Sunday’s final.
Furthermore, the 24-year-old world No.2 did not disappoint his home Thai fans by bouncing back in the middle set to dominate the decider.
Moreover, Kunlavut streaked to a 10-1 lead in the decider and never looked back.
It was the Thai shuttler’s first victory over the 28-year-old Danish world No.3 in eight head-to-head matches.
“This is beyond expectations – he was playing incredibly well in the semifinals. I didn’t think I was going to win,” Kunlavut said after the match.
“I just tried to give my all because so many fans came to support me. I’m really grateful,” he added.
THAI STAR ADMITS HOME FANS ‘KEPT ME GOING,’ WINS THIRD TITLE IN 2025
The Thai star shuttler admitted the the home fans’ warm support “kept me going” en route to winning his third title this year.
Moreover, Kunlavut added the Thailand Open to his growing 2025 collection after he took the Indonesia Masters in January and Asia Championships in China last month.
Furthermore, he already has six overall BWF World Tour titles – a number he still wants to grow more.
“Honestly, it was the fans who kept me going. If this were another tournament, I might have been done already,” Kunlavut said.
“I want my fourth, fifth, and seventh titles to keep coming. There are still aspects of my game I need to improve if I want to win more,” he added.

CHEN DENIES PORNPAWEE OF DOUBLE THAI CELEBRATION
Chen denied Pornpawee Chochuwong of a doble Thai celebration in the final after her 21-16, 21-12 victory.
Moreover, the 27-year-old Chinese world No.8 needed 48 minutes to put away Pornpawee and frustrate the home crowd.
Furthermore, Pornpawee was hoping to join Kunlavut in the winners’ circle and give Thailand both men’s and women’s singles title.
“My priority now is to improve my ranking to make sure that I have a good draw at each tournament,” Chen said.
“But I will also balance that with my physical condition to avoid injury,” she added.
