BUMRAH IMPRESSIVE IN EARLY INDIA WORKOUTS IN BECKENHAM AHEAD OF TESTS

Bumrah was impressive in early workouts for Team India in Beckenham, which is Kent’s second home venue, ahead of the Tests.

Furthermore, the 31-year-old right-arm fast bowler displayed his mastery in pace bowling, as he continously tested Team India’s batters.

Moreover, he was later seen talking to India bowling coach Morne Morkel regarding his two 5-4s at Trent Bridge, ESPNcricinfo.com reported.

Bumrah is just one of the few veterans left in Team India’s England Test team.

This is due to the retirements of former team captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Shubman Gill has been tapped to take over Sharma as India’s new Test captain.

CHIEF SELECTOR URGES PRECAUTION AS BUMRAH RECOVERS FROM BACK INJURY

Chief selector Ajit Agarkar urged precaution on Bumrah, who is still recovering from a stress reaction on his back he sustained in January.

Moreover, the selector disclosed that Bumrah was advised not to dispute his limited playing time as part of his workload management.

Furthermore, Bumrah has yet to be tested in a full Test.

This after he played in India’s fifth Test against Australia in Sydney six months ago.

Bumrah hopes to get some playing time when India opens its five-Test series against England on June 20.

It remains to be seen if Gill and vice-captain Rishabh Pant will allow giving major minutes to Bumrah.

GAMBHIR YET TO RECEIVE CALL ON WHICH TESTS INDIA CAN FIELD BUMRAH IN ENGLAND

Moreover, Bumrah returned to action for Mumbai Indians in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

However, Gautam is likely to get coordination from Team India officials.

This is for the proper managing of Bumrah’s minutes for the upcoming Tests.
