Athletic Club prevailed over Real Sociedad amidst a flurry of goals, 4-0, in their meeting this week at San Mamés.

Dani Vivian’s header off a corner at the 68th minute started the onslaught. Oihan Sanchet followed suit four minutes later.

Iñaki Williams then netted one in at the 80th minute. Finally, Iker Muniain capped the onslaught a minute before end of regulation.

With the win, Athletic crept closer to La Real with only a point separating the two.

In another match this week, Atlético Madrid outclassed Osasuna, 3-0.

João Félix put one to the back of the net early in the contest. Luis Suárez and Ángel Correa had one each during the second half to complete the tally.

The victory kept the Colchoneros in step with surging Barcelona.
