5 things football fans may have missed during the weekend
We went through a weekend without league’s football around Europe due to international break. But it was not without dramas from football world.
Here is the list of 5 things football fans may have missed.
You can find load of promotions here.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s nasty injury
Man United’s superstar Ronaldo always makes the headline, that’s the true, whether he scored or not.
Portugal’s captain got a nasty injury during his international duty with the national team. His broken nose was caused by the collision mid-air with Czech Republic’s goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik, during the 4-0 win in Nations League last weekend.
Ronaldo needed special care on the pitch but managed to stay and played full game. What a warrior! You may read more details about Ronaldo’s injury here.
You don’t mess with Messi
What would happen if the GOAT, the Captain Lionel Messi got a bad tackle or foul during the game?
Well, the whole team would stand up and challenge! The scene below was seen after Messi fouled by Honduras’ player during an international friendly last weekend.
Literally half of Argentina’s squad was there for their captain to show that Messi was not to be messed around!
England relegated from Nations League
It’s not the best time for England’s fans, as they went through tough time…
Giacomo Raspadori scored the only goal with a stunning strike in the 68th minute as Italy defeated England 1-0. This resulted in England’s relegation to the second tier of Nations League.
Three Lions are now without a win or even a goal from open play in their past 5 matches. It may be ‘just Nations League’ for some, but this happened two months before World Cup campaign and may have a very negative effect to the players.
The Pogba’s curse saga continue…
Paul Pogba’s brother Mathias continued the lengthy claims with revelations that Pogba used Witchcraft on Mbappe.
This was before the vital round of 16 second leg of Champions League that saw Man United beat Paris Saint-Germain in unbelievable fashion.
This was part of Mathia’s claim:
“The turning point came with the World Cup in 2018, where Paul had more faith in the witch doctor than in God, entrusting the witch with a big task in order to help the French team win. The witch doctor would go on to tell Mam’s [the intermediary] that the job had already been done, and that was when Mam’s would start to be scared. After that, Paul continued with his witch doctor, notaby in the Champions League to ensure that Manchester United would go through against PSG [in 2019].”
“At the request of Paul, the witch was told to neutralise Kylian Mbappé who back then was on a rapid rise, far outstripping Paul’s fame. It was strange to see that during that match Kylian was a shadow of himself against a reserve side.”
The result made it even more convincing, as Mbappe underperformed during the game at Paris, and PSG eliminated by away goal.
Malaysia’s bad run of shootout cost them King’s Cup trophy
Malaysia football national team beat Thailand in King’s Cup semifinal, marked the first time they reached the final since 1978.
The joy was peak, while it last…as Malaysia was defeated by Tajikistan by shootouts in the final.
The Southeast Asian team failed to score in all of their first three shots, despite Tajikistan also missed the first one.
