76ERS VS BULLS ANOTHER MISSED GAME FOR EMBIID AS PHILADELPHIA MULLS OPTIONS
The 76ers vs Bulls was another missed game for Embiid as Philadelphia mulls its options for their All-Star big man.
Furthermore, the 30-year-old Cameroonian-American center has been limited to just 19 games this season due to an assortment of injuries.
Moreover, Sixers coach Nick Nurse expressed the team’s sentiments in missing their former No.1 pick.
“It is disappointing and it certainly has been disappointing, there’s no question about it,” Nurse said before the game.
“I don’t think anybody envisioned it going like this… (Embiid) wants to play, we want him to play, our best version of our team is with him playing,” he added.
FURTHER TESTS NEEDED FOR EMBIID; SIXERS ‘BIG THREE’ LIMITED TO JUST 15 GAMES TOGETHER
Further tests would be needed for Embiid, Nurse said, adding that the results will determine Philadelphia’s options.
Moreover, the Team USA member at the Paris Olympics has limited the Sixers’ “Big Three” of him, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George of lifting the team.
Furthermore, the trip has played in only 15 games together, with Philadelphia (20-37) going just 7-8 in those matches.
“He (Embiid) did some testing earlier today (Monday), which ruled him out for tonight’s game (vs Bulls),” Nurse said.
“There’s still further testing tonight even yet today and continuing tomorrow, and that’s where we are,” he added.
NURSE INSISTS EMBIID’S SEASON NOT OVER YET
Nurse insisted that Embiid’s season is not over yet, even if the Sixers struggle to at least vie for a play-in slot.
Furthermore, the coach noted Philadelphia is not yet ready to shut down their starting center despite it’s team’s standing.
Moreover, he and the team will await further results of his other knee tests.
“Not at that point at all (shutting down Embiid). Just again, we are playing and testing and trying to figure it out and go from there,” Nurse said.
Meanwhile, the Bulls defeated the Sixers, 142-110, after Josh Giddey scored 25 points, while Kevin Huerter added 23 points in the win.
George and Kelly Oubre finished with 19 points each, while Maxey added 13 points for the undermanned Sixers.
