Arif Aiman set up all four goals. Faisal Halim scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner as Malaysia came from 3-1 down to defeat Kyrgyz Republic 4-3 in front of their home crowds at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

Malaysia were off to a great start when Dion Cools headed home inside 10 minutes, but quick goals from Kairat Zhyrgalbek and Ernist Batyrkanov as the interval approached put the visitors in front at half-time.

Kai Merk made it three shortly before the hour, but an own goal from Christian Brauzman and another Cools header with 13 minutes to play leveled the contest before Faisal secured a stunning victory in the 93rd minute.

Malaysia next faces an away date with Chinese Taipei on November 21, while the Kyrgyz Republic will return to Bishkek to host Oman on the same day.

Thailand 1-2 China PR

China PR started their campaign brilliantly, securing a comeback to beat Thailand 2-1 in Bangkok.

Sarach Yooyen gave the Thais the lead, but China bounced back in style, with former Espanyol man Wu Lei getting a quick equalizer before substitute Wang Shangyuan completed the turnaround in the second half.

The home team broke the deadlock with a textbook counterattack that first saw Phala testing Yan Junling, with the War Elephants winning the rebound, allowing Sarach to lash home the opener in the 23rd minute.

However, Thai could not hold on to the lead for long as Wu Lei punished the host with a fine finish into the bottom corner to draw level for China, only six minutes after Sarach’s opener.

China found the winner with 16 minutes left on the clock when Xie Pengfei won possession inside Thailand’s box and chipped to the far post for Wang to head home.

China will next host Group C favorites Korea Republic in Shenzhen on Tuesday, with Thailand traveling to face Singapore.

Philippines 0-2 Vietnam

Vietnam defeated the Philippines 2-0 with goals from Nguyen Van Toan and Nguyen Dinh Bac in two halves to seal three points.

Neil Etheridge blocked a fine finish from Vietnam’s full-back Vu Van Thanh in the 15th minute, but the host’s goalkeeper could stop Van Toan from striking home the opener a minute later.

The Philippines almost found a way through in the 48th minute when Mikel Bass cut through the right flank in transition before sending a well-timed pass to Reichelt, who was edged out by a battling Nguyen Thanh Binh inside the six-yard box.

The Philippines wasted a late effort to level the tie when substitute Stephan Schrock blasted his free-kick into the wall in the 84th minute.

It proved costly as substitute Nguyen Dình Bac showed his class when he beat his marker before striking past Etheridge from the top of the box in the fourth minute of added time to cap the win for Vietnam.
