AFF Cup 2022 – Laos 0-6 Vietnam – Highlights
Nguyen Tien Linh scored Vietnam’s first goal of the 2022 AFF championship in the 15th minute, which opened a goal-fest with 5 more added.
Golden Star Warrior’s captain made it 2-0 before half-time and goals from Ho Tan Tai, Doan Van Hau, Nguyen Van Toan and Vu Van Thanh rounded off a dominant victory.
Top of group B was clear for Vietnam after the win.
The 2018 champions showed their teeth within the first 10 minutes into the first half, with the clear chance fell to Phan Van Duc who fired wide from Quang Hai’s pass.
It did not take Vietnam long to break the deadlock. Only 5 minutes later, Tien Linh headed in his 13th international goal from a inch-perfect cross from Doan Van Hau.
No signs of bouncing back from the home team, only Vietnam’s chances kept coming, one of which again belonged to Tien Linh but the Binh Duong striker missed it in the 21st minute.
There were worries when talisman Quang Hai was forced to take off with probably hamstring injury, Van Quyet was subbed in and immediately test Laos keeper with a header.
The Hanoi Fc’s captain was involved in Vietnam’s second goal two minutes from the break. The veteran assisted Hung Dung who expertly finished low into the far right corner.

The two-time champions continued their dominance after the restart with a third goal coming in the 55th minute.
Tan Tai easily converted Thanh Chung’s pass to make it 3-0, only to see Van Hau added the 4th goal, thanks to Hoang Duc’s effort inside the box.
Substitute Van Toan added a fifth for Vietnam with a low drive from the edge of the box in the 85th minute before Van Thanh wrapped the 6-0 win in second-half stoppage time, getting behind the Laotian defence and finishing past Keo-Oudone.
