Safawi Rasid among those who were dropped to the bench, while Thailand head coach Mano Polking chose Kampon Phatomakkakul ahead of Kittipong Phoothawchuek in goal.
Thailand dominated the early stages as Malaysia sat deep and absorbed the pressure.
However, the it took Thailand almost 20 minutes to eventually score the equalizer and reset the game.
Teerasil nod home his sixth goal of the tournament in the 19th minute from the edge of the six-yard box, thanks to the inch-perfect cross from Theerathon Bunmathan.
Malaysia had to bounce back and had their first attempt on goal minutes before the break with Darren Lok’s header, which was the warning sign to the home team.
Adisak was subbed in to replace Teerasil, which came at a huge surprise, but the domination continued as Thailand had their lead doubled only 10 minutes after the restart.
Bordin put the ball into the far corner from a nice combination as the cutback was made by Ekanit Panya.
Safawi was introduced as Malaysia hoped to have one goal back and might take advantage of the away goal.

The lead was too comfortable for Thailand and was too big for Malaysia to fight back, 3-0 win was settled for home team.
