PCB GETS FLAK FROM FORMER PAKISTAN OPENER; EX-SEAMER HITS SELECTION PROCESS

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) drew flak from a former Pakistan opener after the hosts were ousted in the tournament.

Furthermore, Ahmed Shehzad slammed the PCB as cricket is already “finished” in Pakistan following the hosts’ debacle in Champions Trophy 2025.

Moreover, he noted that the PCB’s system of selecting players for the national team should be changed.

“People say that the team doesn’t have a system where players are selected through favouritism, but they do,” Shehzad told Geo.tv.

“There was only one sport left in Pakistan. That was cricket. Today, that has also finished,” he added.

Former left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir called on the PCB and the Pakistan Super Leage (PSL) to recognize top domestic cricket players to play for flag and country.

“I request PCB that PSL should not be a criteria for national team selection,” Amir said.

“The top performers from domestic Cricket should be your priority and not the PSL,” he added.
