ALCARAZ BACK AT NO.2 AFTER WINNING MONTE CARLO OPEN FINAL OVER MUSETTI
Alcaraz was back as world No.2 after he won the Monte Carlo Open final over Musetti, 3-6, 6-1, 6-0, on Sunday.
Furthermore, the 21-year-old Spaniard thus exchanged places with German Alexander Zverev, who dropped to No.3
Moreover, Alcaraz regretted seeing Musetti struggle with his right leg injury in the third set even if the Italian managed to finish the match.
‘This is not the way I want to win a match. I really feel sorry for him,” the Spaniard said.
“Just really happy to have won the Monte Carlo for the first time. It’s been a really difficult week, with a lot of difficult situations,” he added.
SPANIARD CUTS GAP WITH BANNED SINNER AS ITALIAN SET FOR MAY RETURN
The Spaniard also cuts the gap between him and banned world No.1 Jannik Sinner as the Italian is set for a May return.
Moreover, Alcaraz is currently behind 2,210 points from Sinner, who has 9,930 points.
Furthermore, Sinner is set to make a return to competition before his home fans at the Italian Open.
Meanwhile, Alcaraz can still further close in against the Italian to 720 points should he win in Barcelona and Madrid claycourt events.
Should that happen, Sinner would be pressed to win in Italy to hold off Alcaraz before the French Open.

HEARTBREAK FOR MUSETTI AFTER OUSTING TSITSIPAS, DE MINAUR ON ROUTE TO FINAL
It was a heartbreak for Musetti after he ousted defending champion Stefano Tsitsipas on his way to the final.
Furthermore, the Italian defeated Tsitsipas in the quarterfinals before eliminating Australian Alex De Minaur, 1-6, 6-4, 7-6(4) in the semifinals on Saturday.
Moreover, Musetti complained of an injury in the third set as he received treatment while going down 0-3.
The 23-year-old Italian, however, could not move as fluid as he was compared to the opening set.
He was swept by the hard-hitting Alcaraz, who bounced back after a woeful Miami Open.
The Spaniard lost to David Goffin in the opening round in South Florida.
