Alejandro Garnacho: Where does United winger rank among Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic and more legendary bicycle kicks

Alejandro Garnacho has been the trending name all over the internet after his magnificent over-head bicycle kick at Everton.

The 19-year-old Argentina winger met Diogo Dalot’s cross in the third minute at Goodison Park from about 15 yards out and unleashed a stunning overhead kick into the top corner.

Man United went on to win against Everton with goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, but the whole world has talked about one and one name only: Garnacho.

A goal that will be remembered for lives

United needed to find somehow a way of silencing the vociferous Everton fans who were enraged by the 10-point deduction, and they did that within three minutes of the first whistle.

Garnacho’s second goal of the season will be talked about for, probably, his whole career – the Argentine catching Dalot’s cross so sweetly even he seemed surprised at how good it was during his celebration. Ah yes, the celebration, it’s a familiar one from a familiar name who produced the same masterpiece once during his peak.

The strike quickly drew comparisons with Wayne Rooney’s overhead kick for United against Manchester City 12 years ago. Well of course, Rooney’s kick was far more important but in terms of beauty, they are all equally stunning.
