Alexander-Arnold on playing for Real Madrid: “Dream come true”
Madrid confirmed Alexander-Arnold’s arrival after reaching an agreement with Liverpool to release the defender from his contract early, ahead of the Club World Cup.
The England international has officially signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2031.
He posed for photos with his new Madrid shirt, which features the name “Trent” and the No. 12.
“Thank you to Florentino Perez and Real Madrid for this opportunity,” Alexander-Arnold said in Spanish during the news conference.
“Signing for a club like Real Madrid doesn’t happen every day. It’s a dream come true. I’m happy and proud to be here, I’m excited to show my game to the Madrid fans.”
“I’m aware of what it means to play for Real Madrid, it’s a big responsibility, but I’m ready. I want to win a lot of trophies and be a champion, and keep growing. Thank you, and Hala Madrid.”

Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool after spending 20 years at Anfield, where he established himself as one of the world’s most high-profile full-backs.
During his time with the club, he won nine trophies, including the 2019 Champions League and the 2020 and 2025 Premier League titles.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid president Perez called Alexander-Arnold “a player who’s won it all.”
“We know what it means for you to play for Real Madrid,” Perez said.
“You could have gone to any club in the world, but you chose us and that’s something our fans will never forget… If you’ve chosen to play here, it’s because your talent makes you believe you’ll achieve new successes here.”
